Betting tips: Kopriva vs. Laaksonen and El Salvador vs. Curacao

Two betting analyses for today on the following events:
  • Vit Kopriva vs. Henri Laaksonen (Braunschweig challenger)
  • El Salvador vs. Curacao (Gold Cup)

Tennis – Braunschweig semifinals: Vit Kopriva vs. Henri Laaksonen

Henri Laaksonen is going through an interesting trajectory in his tennis career. At 29 years old, the player from Switzerland is ranked #137 in the world, not very far from his best career ranking (#93). More importantly, even though his record this season is just decent on paper (20 wins – 17 losses), we like the fact that Laaksonen showed a great level when it mattered the most, the climax of his season being at the French Open where he defeated Roberto Bautista-Agut.

Vit Kopriva is a surprise at this stage of the competition. Ranked #264 in the world, he went through two consecutive 3-setters to reach the semifinals, beating Benoit Paire and Zizou Bergs in the process. The player from Czech Republic played a lot on clay this season and with a very good win ratio (21 wins – 9 losses).

Both players have a game that is very effective on clay, it is difficult to ignore Kopriva's current great form, but at the same time Laaksonen reached the semifinals without dropping a set, and he should be the fresher player. The Swiss player has a lot of power, especially on the forehand side which should make the difference in this match.

Prediction: the two players have never played each other. We predict Laaksonen to win (Match odds).

Football – Gold Cup: El Salvador vs. Curacao

Curacao was one of the good surprises of the last edition of the Gold Cup when they reached the quarterfinals, losing to the United States by the smallest of margin (1-0). This Curacao side relies on many players playing in other parts of the world, mainly in the Netherlands, like Carmelia, Maria, Gaari, and Janga.

This year, Salvador were able to qualify for the Gold Cup by reaching the first place in their group, ahead of Montserrat, the Dominican Republic and Saint Lucia. Last month, they were also able to reach the third round of the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers, and recently played two friendly matches against Guatemala (0-0) and Qatar ( lost 0-1).

We believe both teams have shown a decent form lately, therefore the Draw no Bet market could be an interesting option.

Prediction: El Salvador's form is looking good enough to get at least a draw. We predict Salvador “0” handicap (Asian Handicap).
